About Us

Linda Uzelac, the composer of Harmony Manor Musicals, became the resident Music Director for the Village Playhouses of Roswell right after her first guest direction of Once Upon a Mattress in 1995. In 1996, she and her husband, Steve, became active partners in the theater.

Since her first guest appearance at VPR, Linda has been musical director, conductor and pianist for all of the musicals produced by the Village Playhouses, including all mainstage adult productions, and the Storybook Theater musical plays for children. Linda has also composed and orchestrated many original scores, nine of which have been produced on the Roswell Village stages and are currently available for licensing for production by other theaters through Harmony Manor Musicals.

Mrs. Uzelac, who is originally from New York, has extensive experience and is an acknowledged talent in the music and theater industry. She has served as Music Director for production companies in the New York and Connecticut area from 1973 to 1995, during which time she coordinated, accompanied, and orchestrated countless musical revues and major musicals from community theater to off-Broadway productions. She has also taught and accompanied oratorio and choral groups in the Northeast for twenty-two years, including appearances with the Hartford Symphony.

In addition, Linda has performed as concert soloist, specializing in classical piano. For over twenty years, she has appeared in concerts as sole accompanist to dozens of renowned opera singers from Lincoln Center. Linda has prepared vocalists for appearances on both the classical and Broadway stages, and has accompanied popular cabarets as well as classical instrumentalists in competition. In addition, she has been teaching piano privately for over ten years.

In the Atlanta area, as well as serving as Music Director for the Village Playhouses, Linda has assisted in the musical preparation and performance of revues and musicals for other professional theaters including Callaway Gardens and Actor’s Express.

Her latest success was the World Premiere in the summer of 2000 of Beauty and the Beast©2000 written with Linda Uzelac. June wrote the book for We Three Kings©1999, her first creative theater venture, and her first play to be produced.

June is a member of various theatrical organizations, including the Americal Association of Community Theatre (AACT), and is listed in Playwrights on the Web, an international database of playwrights and their websites offering production and publishing opportunities.

An accomplished poet, some of her work from two of her collections, Spinach Water©1996 and Exodus Ending©1997, has been published in recent years in a number of anthologies, church newsletters, and Philadelphia area publications.

In addition to writing librettos, June is the author of Meditations for New Members©1999, released in October, 1999 by both Morehouse Publishing, Harrisburg, PA and Anglican Book Centre, Toronto, Canada as part of their Faithful Servant series. A collection of insightful meditations for those newly joining or returning to church after a long absence, it is available for sale through www.amazon.com.

June is currently working with Linda on three more musicals. One is a humorous combination of a very familiar fairy tale with a popular children's adventure, and the other two are Biblical plays based upon traditional stories from Scripture. These are slated to be available for licensing through Harmony Manor Musicals for production in the next year.

Writer Don Kraus was born and raised in New York City where he has penned several screenplays.
